Topic 1: Control of primary wood processing

The WMM team has an expertise recognized by the scientific community in primary wood transformation (peeling and milling): optimization and control of cutting parameters.

  • The main topics of this research domain are: Wood cutting instrumentation and modeling. Several PhDs were perfomed, devoted to measure and to model the cutting forces for peeling and milling.

  • Optimization of the cutting conditions and the hydrothermal treatment of wood before the cutting operation
  • Characterization of the product quality (veneer, beam), online (as more as possible) and offline.
