Over a two-day period, members of the LaboMaP took part in the 14th International Machining Meetings (INTERCUT), held on October 2–3, 2024 at CETIM, on the Saint-Étienne site.
The two-day edition brought together 140 participants, who explored the latest advances in machining through 12 technical presentations, complemented by live demonstrations conducted on-site at CETIM and ENISE. Since its establishment in 2009, the INTERCUT Network consortium has become a key national stakeholder, bringing together expertise in research, development, technology transfer, and training in the field of machining. It federates major institutions such as Arts et Métiers, ENISE, and CETIM.
This edition is reviewed through the experience of Rayen HANNA, a third-year PhD candidate within the High-Speed Machining (HSM) team at LaboMaP.
This marked Rayen Hanna’s second participation in the International Machining Meetings, following a first experience in Bordeaux in 2022.
“It was an opportunity to exchange with industry professionals about their needs and development strategies.”
The LaboMaP team delivered three technical presentations:
- The first presentation, given by Rayen HANNA, focused on his PhD research topic:“I had the opportunity to present my work exploring the effects of supercritical CO₂ in machining processes.”
- The second presentation, delivered by Daniel Maldonado, addressed the geometric characterization of rotational axes in machine tools.
- The third presentation, given by Flore Guevel, focused on the compensation of geometric defects in machine tools through feedback control within the position loop.
These presentations were complemented by on-site technical demonstrations, two of which were conducted by LaboMaP, directly linked to the topics presented.
