LaBoMAP is pleased to welcome Jérémy Gouillon to the High-Speed Machining (HSM/UGV) team, where he will take on new challenges in instrumentation and data-driven process improvement.

Before joining the laboratory, Jérémy worked on the instrumentation of football and rugby pitches to perform mechanical characterization of soils, with the aim of reducing players’ injury risk and enhancing performance.

“I was working on instrumenting football and rugby pitches for mechanical soil characterization, in order to reduce the risk of player injury and thus improve their performance.”

His work focuses on the instrumentation of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools to acquire as much data as possible, including:
  • cutting process characterization,
  • surface integrity / surface finish analysis of the tool or the workpiece,
  • monitoring machine energy consumption,
  • and, more broadly, any measurable quantity that can support improved understanding and optimization of manufacturing processes.
