Thesis Topic
Study of tool wear and part damage mechanisms during drilling of Ti6Al4V/CFRP stacks
Etude des mécanismes d’usure des outils et d’endommagement des pièces lors du perçage des empilages Ti6Al4V/CFRP
Abstract
The thesis focuses on the in-depth study of the tool's micro-geometry change along the cutting edge, in specific cutting planes, and how it affects cutting mechanisms in two types of materials: titanium and CFRP. These changes in cutting mechanisms result in increased mechanical efforts and the generation of additional heat. Understanding the relationship between these parameters, beyond general considerations, represents a major scientific challenge to address within the scope of this thesis.
