Anglais : Understanding the coupling between process and machine in gear skiving

Français : Analyse et compréhension du couplage Procédé-Machine lors de la fabrication des engrenages par Power Skiving

Abstract

Power skiving is an advanced gear machining process that has become increasingly important in the manufacturing industry. This highly efficient and versatile method is used to produce gear profiles with complex geometries while ensuring high productivity. Unlike traditional gear shaping processes, power skiving is characterised by its ability to generate a wide range of gear types such as spur gears, helical gears, internal gears and external gears. This thesis aims to improve the manufacturing process by taking into account the behaviour of the machining system as a whole. The effects of the machine's behaviour, in particular its performance in terms of synchronisation of the axes of rotation and its dynamic behaviour will be studied in order to gain a better understanding of the coupling between the process and the machine during the manufacture of the gears. The aim of the project is to develop a simulation platform enabling the machined surfaces to be simulated, taking account of the machine's performance.
