Thèses Topic :

FR. Industrialisation innovante de la transformation du chêne en produits techniques pour des usages structurels et non-structurels pour la construction.
EN. Innovative industrialization of oak processing into technical products for structural and non-structural uses in construction.

Abstract :

This CIFRE PhD project aims to optimize the manufacturing processes of reconstituted oak-based products by leveraging scanner data to enhance both their structural and aesthetic value. It aligns with the Ducerf Group's investment in modernizing its automated cutting line, scheduled for 2026, and integrating a machine sorting system to optimize material and economic yield. The objective is to develop and refine grading criteria to maximize product quality and mechanical resistance, in collaboration with the scanner manufacturer. The research will focus on several key tasks: defining criteria to optimize cutting and grading based on structural and aesthetic qualities, analysing the impact of these sorting methods on mechanical strength and profitability, and optimizing machining parameters to ensure reliable finger joints and prevent chipping. Special attention will be given to the impact of wood rays, the homogenization of elastic modulus, and the certification of new processes. The ultimate goal is to propose an innovative wood sorting and transformation model that enhances industrial and economic value.
